Mie Goreng
Mie Goreng – Indonesian Fried Noodles
Spicy, aromatic egg noodles with chicken, shrimp, and crisp vegetables – perfect for 4 servings.
Ingredients:
Main Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil
 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped
 - 125 g chicken, finely chopped
 - 6 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
 - 60 g cabbage, finely shredded
 - 175 g mung bean sprouts (optional), washed and root tips removed
 - 500 g yellow egg noodles, washed and drained
 
Seasoning & Sauce
- 3 tbsp Nasi Goreng paste
 - 1 ½ tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
 - ¼ tsp salt
 
Garnish
- Tomato wedges
 - Chopped spring onions
 
Preparation:
- 1. Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Briefly sauté the garlic, then add chicken and shrimp and stir-fry until almost cooked through.
 - 2. Add cabbage, mung bean sprouts, and egg noodles. Toss quickly to heat everything through.
 - 3. Stir in Nasi Goreng paste, kecap manis, and salt. Stir-fry well until the noodles are glossy and the sauce has slightly reduced (~1 minute).
 - 4. Plate the noodles and garnish with tomato wedges and chopped spring onions.
