Wood

Wooden packaging is particularly common in the transport sector. Examples include wooden pallets, crates, and boxes. Here too, the packaging is usually more than a simple construction. Types include CKD packaging, folding crates, special constructions, and inserts. CKD packaging (Completely Knocked Down) is often used in the automotive sector. It packages products that have been completely disassembled into their individual parts. Folding crates are usually made from plywood and steel components and offer the advantage of low weight and easy handling, as folding mechanisms require no additional tools. Special constructions can be used to package particularly sensitive or bulky goods. Additionally, elements such as data loggers can be integrated. These monitor the stresses on the packaged goods during transport. Special, customized inserts can secure the product and ensure that it is not damaged during transport. All these packaging variants require precise coordination with the product. They must be implemented using technical drawings and designs.
